good day

today I've played with kids,

ate strawberries

went to the pool to swim in class.....it was amazing.

picked flowers

raced to the roof to catch the breath taking colors of a sunset

and it's 8 and we have power. it's amazing and this just doesn't happen. the kids are coloring down stairs and I'm cooking chicken, the first meat I've had since I've been here.

It's a great day. It's a cool night and I'm wearing my jeans with my skin warm with the kiss of the sun. The kids will go to bed soon and you will find me on the roof looking at the stars thinking of you. God is here. I see Him EVERY DAY. I'm meant to be here. I'm so happy and am overflowing with joy and love. If only, if only people would take a moment for Haiti there eyes would be opened to see the wonder and beauty of these people. I'm learning so much.

close your eyes with me and I'll meet you half way.

love

Thanks Megan for the updates. I think you would be surprised how many people are reading this blog and checking it daily. We love you and miss you.
Let everyone know about the amazon link from the three angels site and that will perhaps help this mission.
God bless,

Bannerman! May I tell you how great it is to hear about what you are doing...I think of and pray for you often. I already knew before you left that Haiti would be like home. I'm not going to lie...i may or may not be jealous of the opportunity you've gotten, but I know that it is where you are meant to be.
So Tara Leigh story. I hate to tell it over the internet b/c it won't be as funny, but...My brother's wedding was 2 weeks ago and my cousins visited. So i was telling my aunt that I saw their name in the thank you's of tara's book. And she mentioned how she's stayed at their house periodically for like 5 years. And she (TLC) developed a little crushy-crush on my cousin Jackson (who was at the time about 16...5 or 6 years younger than TLC might i add). So there was a picture of him in a white t-shirt that she had taken i think...and that was the inspiration for the song. PS-the river she talks about in that song...i've played there all throughout my childhood. CRAZY huh? Love you and misssssss you!

Megan, I am so very glad you are doing well! It seems you are really loving it in Haiti, and its good to hear that you are where you are supposed to be. I enjoyed the pictures of the children they were amazing! You are missed back here in the Dark City. Don't worry i haven't let it burn down, so it should be here when you get back =)I will keep you in my prayers.

Megan -
I Britian (and maybe the US? I really don't know) they celebrated Big Red Nose Day yesterday which is the official Comic Relief Charity day to raise money for Africa, much of which goes to aid HIV orphans. So far this morning the total is over 40 million pounds. Jasper and I spent a good part of last night watching the show which is filled with stories from Africa interspersed with live and recorded comedy stuff. One of the things I love about the Brits is that they never sugar coat things. They call it like it is. And even their comedy is without apology - NOT PC - but it makes a hell of a statement. The pieces shot in Africa were real...in your face...not fraid to show the reality of death, sorrow, pain, suffering and the reality of a country in desperate need. One minute we were laughing our heads off and the next sobbing into the pillow - and not just once, this went on for a good three hours - over and over, an emotional rollercoaster . I was exhausted by the time we went to bed.
The reason I am telling you all of this is that as I watched this show it made me realize HOW PROUD I am of what you are doing and what a differnce you are making in the world. Whatever else you do in this life, I know this experience will live with you forever and the lives youare touching will be the better for it - always.

I love you and can't wait to see you again. The blogs are wonderful, keep them coming as you can.
